Retail Sales Consultant with  
Window Dressing Skills 
Retail Therapy has two well-established ladies clothing and fashion accessory shops in Lavenham High Street. We are looking for a new team member to work not only on the shop floor but to also take responsibility for window & merchandise displays and seasonal promotions in both shops. 
The successful applicant will have previous experience working in a professional retail environment and feel comfortable engaging and conversing with the wide range of customers we welcome to our shops. You will understand the aim of our business is to offer all customers specialist product knowledge and advice whilst receiving an outstanding shopping experience. 
The ability to convert "lookers" into buyers is, of course, the ultimate proof of your ability to do the job! 
So, what will YOU actually be doing? 
You will be responsible for all aspects of the shop – we’ll expect you to manage the shop as if it were your own business! So, the ability to confidently tick the following boxes is essential: 
Serving customers, advising them on what we have available and, by example, getting them to handle/try on the stock 
Ensuring your sales performance meets daily and weekly targets 
Driving sales & maximising profit by identifying opportunities to increase sales through creative promotions, both in and out of the shops 
Overseeing deliveries, pricing and displaying 
Having a team player attitude with good communication skills 
Ability to remain calm and work under pressure 
Dealing with customer queries and complaints 
Plan and instigate seasonal window displays 
Co-ordinate shop floor displays and merchandising 
Last but not least, approaching each working day with enthusiasm, passion and determination 
Do I need formal qualifications? 
Candidates with previous work experience in retail fashion will be at an advantage but a passion for selling and delivering excellent customer service is more important than formal qualifications. A flair for display and colour co-ordination is also very relevant. 
Whilst you will be expected to have sales experience, thorough product knowledge and systems training will be given. 
The finer details... 
Commitment to a minimum 4-day week (with possibility to increase to 5 days), which will include two weekends per month, is a pre-requisite for the post. Shop hours are 10am to 5.30pm Monday to Saturday and 10am to 5pm Sundays and Bank Holidays.
